Cauterets is
a small town set among the stunning
peaks of the High Pyrenees, yet easily accessible.
The chalet is 12 minutes walk (or 2 minutes drive)
from the town and ski-lift, where there is
ample free parking. It is 25 minutes drive from Lourdes, with
which it
is linked by a regular bus service.
How to get there -
By car - About 720 miles
from Calais (12 hours) but at least you'll have your own
car when you arrive.
Fly-Drive - Ryanair fly
direct to Pau from Stanstead (1 hour 40 minute flight),
then 75 minutes drive in your hire car to Cauterets.
They also fly direct to Lourdes from Stanstead for the
ski season from December to March, then 30 minutes drive
in your hire car.
Public Transport - Fly to
Pau then take the Ryanair shuttle bus to Pau Gare
(train station). Take the train to Lourdes and at the
front of Lourdes train station take the bus to Cauterets
(this takes about 3 hours from landing at Pau).
Fly to Lourdes (December - March), short taxi trip to
Lourdes Gare, then the bus to Cauterets.
